ONLINE THERAPY FOR WOMEN · CO, DC, ME, OR & VA

You’ve done the work. Now go deeper.

You’ve had years of therapy, read the books, and kept a practice. Still, something is unsettled: anxiety that returns, a low tide of depression, a sense of standing at a crossroads. Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy reaches beneath insight, to the parts of you that still carry the weight, and to the Self beneath them.

“I understand my patterns. Why do I still feel this way?“I’m tired of talking about my childhood.”

“Meditation helps, until it doesn’t.”

“I know there’s more to life, and I can’t quite reach it.”

“I’m at a crossroads and can’t see which way to go.”

Parts that have heard every insight still need to be met.

WHAT BRINGS PEOPLE HERE

Insight got you this far. It isn’t taking you the rest of the way.

On the surface

Anxiety that returns at 3 a.m. or under pressure. A flatness that settles in for weeks. A crossroads in your work, your relationships, or your sense of purpose. You can name your patterns precisely, and you still repeat them.

Inside

Frustration with yourself: “I should be past this by now.” A practice, like meditation, yoga, or retreats, that has gone flat or quietly become a way to step around pain. The loneliness of being the one who seems to have it together.

What it means

You want healing that reaches your body and the places understanding couldn’t. You want to live from Self, connected to the people and the world around you. You want to choose your next chapter with clarity.

WHY UNDERSTANDING ISN’T ENOUGH

Parts change when they’re met, not just understood

Understanding is a manager’s skill. Many people who have done a lot of work have highly capable managers: parts that analyze, reframe, and keep things in perspective. Those parts have served you well. They can also keep the parts that carry anxiety and depression out of reach, sometimes even through therapy or meditation.

In IFS, lasting change happens when the parts underneath are met directly, by you, with compassion. These are signs you may be ready for that:

  • You can explain your patterns, and they still run you

  • Your practice calms you, but it doesn’t change you

  • Old grief or fear rises when life gets quiet

  • You feel called toward something, and parts of you pull back

  • You’re tired of managing yourself

  • You sense there is more to you than your history

GOING DEEPER

What deeper means in IFS

IFS holds that beneath every part is the Self. It is not something you build. It is already there, uncovered as your parts learn they can step back.

Deeper work means more of your life is led from Self. When burdens you have carried for decades are finally released, people often describe what opens up: spaciousness, ease, and a felt connection to the people and the world around them.

That is the depth this work reaches for, beneath insight and beneath coping.

This is psychotherapy. Anxiety and depression are treated directly, with a clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan.

I know this territory because I live in it. I’ve done many years of my own inner work, and I’m still deepening. I know what it is to understand yourself well and still feel the pull of something unfinished.

WHAT WORKING TOGETHER LOOKS LIKE

Beneath insight, at your pace

1. We meet what’s here now

We begin with a clinical assessment of the anxiety, depression, or crossroads you’re facing, and map your system, including the skilled protectors that keep things in perspective.

2. We go beneath insight

Your body becomes a trailhead. With somatic awareness, we find where a part lives in you and turn toward it directly, with your protectors’ permission every step of the way.

3. We unburden and open

The parts that carry old fear and grief are witnessed and released from their burdens. As they settle, more Self-energy is available, along with the connection you’ve been longing for.

Deep work is like old garden soil: layered, rich, and worth the patience.

WHAT’S AT STAKE

A crossroads is an invitation

If something changes

People often describe a quiet shift: less effort, more ease. The parts that drove the anxiety and depression can rest. You meet the crossroads from Self, and feel more connected as you go.

If nothing changes

You keep managing well. The anxiety and low moods keep returning. Your practice stays a place to cope, and the next chapter gets chosen by the same parts that chose the last one.

WHAT CHANGE CAN LOOK LIKE

More of you, leading

IFS calls the calm, wise center in each of us the Self. When parts trust it, these qualities come forward on their own.

Calm
Anxiety visits, and it no longer moves in

Connectedness
You feel more connected to the people and the world around you

Clarity
You make choices at the crossroads from clarity, not fear

Creativity
Your practice feels alive again, with room for something new

Confidence
Your body feels like an ally you can trust, not a problem to manage

Curiosity
Low days lift sooner, and you wonder what they’re asking of you

Courage
You turn toward what you’ve been managing for years

Compassion
You meet the parts that still hurt with kindness, not impatience

QUESTIONS

Before you reach out

Many approaches work through understanding: talking about patterns and where they came from. IFS works through relationship. You turn toward your parts directly, in the body and in the moment, so they can change from the inside.

How long does deeper work take?

It varies. Some people come for a focused season around a crossroads, and others stay longer to go further. We check in regularly on what’s helping and decide together.

What about medication?

Therapy and medication can work well together. If I think medication might help, I’ll suggest you talk with a prescriber. That decision is always yours.

Do you take insurance?

I’m in network with Moda for Oregon clients. Otherwise my practice is private pay, and I can provide statements you may be able to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. See the out-of-network reimbursement page for details.

Is therapy online?

Yes. We meet by secure video, from wherever you have privacy. You need to be located in Colorado, Maine, Oregon, Virginia, or Washington DC during our sessions.
